Trials & Employment Litigation
Paul M. Teinert is an experienced litigator and trial lawyer, and serves as a Managing Partner at Ross, Wolcott, Teinert & Prout LLP. Paul focuses his practice on employment, business, and real estate related matters, and has extensive experience litigating matters in both state and federal courts as well as representing clients before a wide range of administrative bodies.
Paul’s employment-related experience includes defending matters involving wrongful termination and retaliatory discharge, employment discrimination and harassment, and defense of alleged violations under the Fair Employment and Housing Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Disabled Persons Act, Unruh Civil Rights Act, Age Discrimination Act, Family Medical Leave Act and California Family Rights Act. He also represents employers before state and federal administrative agencies including the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, and the California Employment Development Department. Beyond his litigation practice, Paul also advises employers on issues arising under state and federal employment laws to ensure compliance and minimize risk. This extensive experience in providing employment counseling to clients, includes policy and handbook drafting, employment practices audits, seminar presentations and workplace investigations.
Paul’s extensive commercial litigation practice centers on disputes involving contracts, real property, fraud, negligence and business and intentional torts. Paul also frequently provides advice and counsel to intuitional clients and select individuals on certain transactions, including non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, joint venture agreements, advisor agreements, non-disclosure agreements and confidentiality agreements.
Paul received his J.D. from Chapman University – Fowler School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Teinert served as a member of the Mock Trial Honors Board where he was the recipient of the Trial Advocacy Award. Prior to law school, Mr. Teinert earned his bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies at University of California, Berkeley where he was a member of the track and field team and earned NCAA All-American Honors his junior and senior year.
Mr. Teinert is admitted to practice before all California state courts as well as the United States District Court for the Central, Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of California. He is a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and the Orange County Bar Association.
